"Quote of the Day"

"Honor, justice, and humanity, forbid us tamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallant ancestors, and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us. We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to that wretchedness which inevitably awaits them if we basely entail hereditary bondage on them." --Thomas Jefferson

Insurance Company Obscene Profits...Really?

The Claims
"I'm very pleased that (Democratic leaders) will be talking, too, about the immoral profits being made by the insurance industry and how those profits have increased in the Bush years." House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who also welcomed the attention being drawn to insurers'"obscene profits."

"Keeping the status quo may be what the insurance industry wants their premiums have more than doubled in the last decade and their profits have skyrocketed." Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen, member of the Democratic leadership.

"Health insurance companies are willing to let the bodies pile up as long as their profits are safe." A MoveOn.org ad.

THE TRUTH
Health insurers posted a 2.2 percent profit margin last year, placing them 35th on the Fortune 500 list of top industries. As is typical, other health sectors did much better - drugs and medical products and services were both in the top 10.

HealthSpring, the best performer in the health insurance industry, posted 5.4 percent. That's a less profitable margin than was achieved by the makers of Tupperware, Clorox bleach and Molson and Coors beers.

The railroads brought in a 12.6 percent profit margin. Leading the list: network and other communications equipment, at 20.4 percent.

But were the Bush years golden ones for health insurers?

Not judging by profit margins, profit growth or returns to shareholders. The industry's overall profits grew only 8.8 percent from 2003 to 2008, and its margins year to year, from 2005 forward, never cracked 8 percent.

The latest annual profit margins of a selection of products, services and industries: Tupperware Brands, 7.5 percent; Yahoo, 5.9 percent; Hershey, 6.1 percent; Clorox, 8.7 percent; Molson Coors Brewing, 8.1 percent; construction and farm machinery, 5 percent; Yum Brands (think KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell), 8.5 percent.

Global Warming?

A recent story for the BBC begins:

What happened to global warming?

By Paul Hudson
Climate correspondent, BBC News

This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.
But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures. (cont. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8299079.stm)

While some may be "surprised" as stated, they should not be. The "Global Warming/Cooling/Change" debate has always been based on an agenda instead of science. There have been scientists from the very beginning that tried to say, "hold on!". But the agenda needed a movement. And "Global Warming" was the movement.

Conservatives NEVER bought into this idea. They said the science does not support the belief, and therefore, have always pointed to the agenda as the purpose. Unfortunately, until a quasi-liberal establishment provides confirmation, the conservatives are considered "whack-jobs", or "greedy money-mongers that don't care about the environment".

Well, here is a news flash - Conservatives Live on the Earth Also! Do you really think we would destroy our planet for money. The reality is that, just like "Global Cooling" in the 1970's, "Global Warming" was a farce being fed to the general public.

But let's not stop there. Please, for once, let's investigate the agenda behind "Global Warming". It's very simple - POWER and CONTROL. If somebody has power and control, they will have money.

Now I am not saying that every environmentalist out there is hungry for power, that would be a lie...but, liberal politicians crave Power and Control!

The end goal for liberal politicians was/is, and always will be, about Cap-and-Trade. There is money to be made, and influence to be peddled in Cap-and-Trade legislation. With this legislation, you control the power industry, which allows them to control everything else.

Many companies (like GE) have positioned themselves to cash in on a Green Economy. Why are people so easily convinced that Halliburton wants war to feed their machine, but refuse to consider that other companies can have an agenda as well.

So the message going forward is to be aware of hidden agendas. Regardless of Conservative or Liberal political leanings, there can be hidden agendas.

So.....now you want to talk about Obama's Health Care legislation?.......

Quote from Economist Walter Williams

"Most of our country's serious problems can be laid at the feet of Congress and the White House and not at capitalism. Take the financial crisis. One-third of the $15 trillion of mortgages in existence in 2008 are owned, or securitized by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, the Federal Housing and the Veterans Administration. Banks didn't mind making risky loans and Wall Street buyers didn't mind buying these repackaged loans because they assumed that they would be guaranteed by the federal government: read bailout by taxpayers. Under a capitalist system, financial institutions would not have been intimidated or encouraged into making risky loans and neither would they have been bailed out if they did so. Social Security, Medicare and its coverage of prescription drugs have an unfunded liability that exceeds $100 trillion. When those roosters come home to roost, they will make the financial meltdown we've been though look like child's play. Not withstanding all of the demagoguery, it is capitalism not socialism that made us a great country and it's socialism that will be our undoing." --economist Walter Williams

Democrats block GOP demand for more time
Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday turned back a Republican amendment to wait 72 hours and require a full cost estimate before the final committee vote on the health care reform bill............follow link to see more -

CHOICES

During President Obama’s Sunday Morning Talk Show Tour, host George Stephanopoulos [of ABC] was questioning the Max Baucus's Senate bill (that Mr. Obama supports), where everyone would be required to buy health insurance or else pay a penalty as high as $3,800 a year. Mr. Stephanopoulos asked when “the government is forcing people to spend money, fining you if you don't [buy insurance]. ... How is that not a tax?”

“Well, hold on a second, George,” Mr. Obama replied. “Here's what's happening. You and I are both paying $900, on average -- our families -- in higher premiums because of uncompensated care. Now what I've said is that if you can't afford health insurance, you certainly shouldn't be punished for that. That's just piling on. If, on the other hand, we're giving tax credits, we've set up an exchange, you are now part of a big pool, we've driven down the costs, we've done everything we can and you actually can afford health insurance, but you've just decided, you know what, I want to take my chances. And then you get hit by a bus and you and I have to pay for the emergency room care, that's...”

“That may be,” Mr. Stephanopoulos responded, “but it's still a tax increase.”

But according to Mr. Obama: “No. That's not true, George. The -- for us to say that you've got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase. What it's saying is, is that we're not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you anymore...”

Please read over this exchange once more, its important………….

Now, the odds are, I don’t have to say a word. The questions should be ringing in your mind.

What about those people that OBAMA says, “if you can't afford health insurance, you certainly shouldn't be punished for that. That's just piling on”? How does Obama decide who can, or can’t afford to pay for insurance. Does he come and audit you to see if you have $3,600 available?

Wouldn’t you say that anybody that has earned $3,600 COULD have chosen to buy insurance with that money. But the odds are that they first chose to eat…and then to pay for lodging…and then to pay for water and power bills…and maybe then to put gas in their car…and so on. But aren’t these all simply CHOICES? I mean, doesn’t Obama make it clear that he believes that some people are choosing NOT to get insurance so that they can cheat the system?

So if Obama believes that people are making choices to NOT get Health Care, then having Health Care is a choice. And if it is a choice, then it is not a Right. If it is not a Right, then why are we arguing about it?

Let’s face a simple reality: it is a mistake to decide that people, as a result of their failure, will get something for free. This is why we live in a Free-Market Capitalist System. People get what they earn, unless it comes as a Gift or as Charity. And our government should not be involved in giving Gifts or Charity.

People LISTEN. This debate is about POWER, and whether it should be in the hands of Politicians in Washington DC, or in the hands of the consumer that gets to choose how to spend the money he or she has earned.

Obama's Transparent Corruption

Anybody other than me noticing the increased level of corruption around our new President and his administration.

I mean, first there is William Ayers, Reverend Wright and the rest of his entourage during the campaign. Oh, and let's not forget the dozen, or so, voter fraud cases brought against Obama's ACORN buddies. But, I'm sure that Obama is not very close to this ACORN group....or is he (see this - http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204488304574427041636360388.html?mod=googlenews_wsj )

From his first days in office, we find out that The Apollo Alliance wrote the Stimulus Bill that ultimately feeds millions of dollars to...that's right, The Apollo Alliance. [For anybody unaware, the Apollo Alliance includes ACORN, SEIU, and other George Soros funded "charities"] Don't believe they wrote it, check with Apollo, they are proud of their role according to their website. Want to continue learning about this allied group of radicals listen to Beck here - http://www.foxnews.com/search-results/m/25516152/the-apollo-alliance.htm .

More recently, we have the ACORN scandal of wanting to help the pimp and prostitue set up their Brothel with illegal underage girls from Central America (see the 1 of the 5videos here - http://biggovernment.com/2009/09/15/acorn-prostitution-scandal-california-here-we-come/ ).

But we also have the NEA scandal where they planned to push Obama's agenda, even though laws don't allow them to do that. (see more here - http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/09/after-inappropriate-nea-conference-call-white-house-pushes-new-guidelines.html )

And fresh news today from Rueters, "U.S. charges Obama fund-raiser in $290 million fraud". This story begins, "NEW YORK (Reuters) - Hassan Nemazee, a fund-raiser for Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and other Democrats, has been indicted for defrauding Bank of America, HSBC and Citigroup Inc out of more than $290 million in loan proceeds, U.S. prosecutors said on Monday." (see the rest of the story here - http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSTRE58K5A420090921?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews&rpc=22&sp=true )

The interesting thing is that we should already know how this latest story from Rueters will end - he is a rogue individual with no close association with Obama or the Clintons. Nobody ever seems to notice the continuous culture of corruption that surrounds our nation's capital, and that has gotten worse since Obama has arrived.

I guess the moral of this story goes - when you elect a Chicago Politician, you get what you pay for (and that can be taken literally).

The Problem With Big Government

I argued with several conservatives regarding the Cash-4-Clunkers program. They thought this was an example of providing incentive at the consumer level.

I am willing to acknowledge that this program at least has a foundation in Capitalism. Unfortunately, it is not a natural driven occurrence.

My problem is that you need to give money back to consumers and allow them to spend it however they choose. Don't force them into the automobile market. All Cash-4-Clunkers accomplished was: #1 to persuade people to buy something that they were already strongly considering, or #2 persuade people to purchase something they can't really afford. Neither of these events is what should be happening in a FREE-MARKET CAPITALIST ECONOMY.

You will here me repeat this theme over-and-over. Let the free-market work and it will generally sort things out. Other than unlawful practices, Government involvement typically makes matters worse.

We got into this recession because of government meddling in the housing market.

So below is the news now telling us that automobile showrooms are now quiet. DUH! When the government forces an unnatural rally, it will not be good.

I'll give this a couple more months to play out, but what I see developing is this. The government artificially drove sales up, retailers responded by purchasing more vehicles to be sold, manufacturers responded by ramping up production (possibly even hiring back a few people) - this all sounds good, right? But now the sales are gone...retailers were tricked into over-responding...manufacturers made vehicles that weren't needed...soon there will be oversurplus and people will be laid off...and the downward spiral starts again.

Everybody agreed that the recession was near the bottom. Just allow it to run its cycle and it will improve. Now we have to suffer the emotional turmoil of another downward slope to our economy (i.e. consumer confidence goes down).

Nobody is evil in their intentions, in fact, they were probably noble. Its just the reality of economics. People buy and sale as individuals when they become convinced that their economic standing supports a move. Unnatural spurring in a certain direction, particularly when it is only short-term, only confuses the issue. It disrupts the natural course of the decision making process and causes people buy on impulse...and bad things happen.

http://www.boston.com/business/articles/2009/09/19/car_showrooms_quiet_after_clunkers_clamor_ends/

This brings us to the big newspapers that are crumbling. They are producing something that is no longer needed, and in many cases, no longer wanted.

Many of these are so slanted towards one party or the other that they are irrelevent.

Now, there is news emerging that Obama is willing to consider bills that provide newspapers a "tax break" if they restructure as "non-profit" organizations. (Gee, that has worked really well with ACORN).

I find it hard to believe that companies structured for profit can suddenly become non-profit. These companies have failed to keep up with the modern day technology, and they should be allowed to fail.

The natural cycle will take care of getting rid of poor performing companies, and it will reward those that produce the goods and services that consumers want. It just takes the courage to let it happen and stop trying to force an economically unnatural event.

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/59523-obama-open-to-newspaper-bailout-bill

Ronald Reagan once explained, "Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And, if it stops moving, subsidize it."

The reality is as Reagan also said, "government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem".

Scrap This "Racist" Junk...There's Some Real Problems

Obama calls a white cop stupid, and that’s fine…a white congressman says that Obama lies, and he is rebuked by Congress and called a racist in the media…by the way, didn’t Obama say in that very speech that Sarah Palin lied about the “Death Panels”? Maybe Obama should be rebuked.

Seriously people....is this a hopeless fight?...please, just one Democrat, tell me that you see the problems....Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, John Holdren, Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, ACORN scandals, huge spending increases for a "Health Care Crisis", huge spending increase for an "Economic Crisis", huge spending increase that is Cap-and-Trade in order to solve the "Global Climate Change Crisis", huge spending increase to "Save the US Automotive Industry", huge spending increase for "Bank Bailouts"....PLEASE, one DEMOCRAT, I need to know that some of you still have a moral compass!!!!!

Its fine if you hate Bush, the more I think on it, the less I like him (spending increase for Homeland Security, spending increase for "No Child Left Behind", spending increase for "Pharmaceutical Plan")...they are all progressives that want DC to be involved in every aspect of our lives…….GET OUT! I want our Federal Government OUT OF OUR LIVES!!!!!!

Let's demand that corrupt politicians be treated like the criminals that they are...

Let's demand a 25% spending decrease from our federal government over the next 10 years...

Let’s demand term limits for Congress…

Let’s demand that Congress must live by the rules they pass for us…

Let’s demand more "check and balance control" over judges with lifetime appointments…

Let's demand that contributions to political parties lose their tax deduction, so that politicians must listen to the people that are donating to their political future, instead of obeying their party's marching orders...

Let's demand some "free-market" modifications to health care, and forbid a government takeover...

Let's demand that the fraud and abuse in Medicare/Medicaid be corrected...

Let's demand that the Security Exchange Commission actually do their job and monitor the honest flow of information from Wall Street...

These won't fix all of our ills, only a return to our religious origins will truly correct them. However, these steps will slow our decent into the deep darkness that Washington DC is starting to cast over this nation.

Git rid of da bums!!!

Let's limit terms for Senators and Congressmen to 8 years. This will also require changing normal Senate terms to 4 years.

If any of you are like me, you are sickened by the arrogance of these people in Congress, who act like elected nobility. So let's clean house permanently, and bring about a true revolution in this country. Let's get back to the day when serving in Congress was a duty instead of a privilege.

Spread the word!!!!

Cap-n-Crunch

CO2 Cap-and-Trade is the latest government means of control that the Obama administration will strap onto the American people. To that end, Obama must be thankful that the silent Lemmings following him have no interest in understanding the original intention of our Founding Fathers. These men went so far as to establish a Bill of Rights for every citizen (granted by the Creator), yet they still feared that future governments would slowly usurp freedom from the citizens.

In the Federalist No. 51, James Madison wrote, "In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself"

So we "fast-forward" to modern day and find our government is planning to Regulate and Tax the public for the very gas that we exhale when we breath.

(Begin quoting the Patriot Post): After the bill's passage, Obama trotted out this whopper: "Thanks to members of Congress who were willing to place America's progress before the usual Washington politics, this bill will create new businesses, new industries, and millions of new jobs, all without imposing untenable new burdens on the American people or America's businesses."

Of course, that depends on what the definition of "untenable" is. In January 2008, Obama proclaimed, "[U]nder my plan of a cap and trade [sic] system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket ... because I'm capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, natural gas ... you name it ... whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. ... [T]hey will pass that money on to the consumers." (end quoting the Patriot Post)

Is it necessary that I point out the absolute absurdity of Cap and Trade? PLEASE, I am begging somebody to tell me that they understand that this is crazy............

Just in case you still don't understand, Below is a July 1, 2009 Open Letter to Congress by a team of prominent atmospheric scientists.

TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES: YOU ARE BEING DECEIVED ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING
You have recently received an Open Letter from the Woods Hole Research Center, exhorting you to act quickly to avoid global disaster. The letter purports to be from independent scientists, but that Center is the former den of the President's science advisor, John Holdren, and is far from independent. This is the same science advisor who has given us predictions of “almost certain” thermonuclear war or eco-catastrophe by the year 2000, and many other forecasts of doom that somehow never seem to arrive on time.

The facts are:

The sky is not falling; the Earth has been cooling for ten years, without help. The present cooling was NOT predicted by the alarmists' computer models, and has come as an embarrassment to them.

The finest meteorologists in the world cannot predict the weather two weeks in advance, let alone the climate for the rest of the century. Can Al Gore? Can John Holdren? We are flooded with claims that the evidence is clear, that the debate is closed, that we must act immediately, etc, but in fact

THERE IS NO SUCH EVIDENCE; IT DOESN'T EXIST.

The proposed legislation would cripple the US economy, putting us at a disadvantage compared to our competitors. For such drastic action, it is only prudent to demand genuine proof that it is needed, not just computer projections, and not false claims about the state of the science.

SCIENCE IS GUIDED BY PROOF, NOT CONSENSUS

Finally, climate alarmism pays well. Alarmists are rolling in wealth from the billions of dollars floating around for the taking, and being taken. It is always instructive to follow the money.

"Ludwig Von Mises, that great economist, once noted: 'People must fight for something they want to achieve, not simply reject an evil.' Well, the conservative movement remains in the ascendancy because we have a bold, forward-looking agenda. No longer can it be said that conservatives are just anti-Communist. We are, and proudly so, but we are also the keepers of the flame of liberty. And as such, we believe that America should be a source of support, both moral and material, for all those on God's Earth who struggle for freedom. Our cause is their cause, whether it be in Nicaragua, Afghanistan, or Angola. When I came back from Iceland I said -- and I meant it -- American foreign policy is not simply focused on the prevention of war but the expansion of freedom. Modern conservatism is an active, not a reactive philosophy. It's not just in opposition to those vices that debase character and community, but affirms values that are at the heart of civilization." --Ronald Reagan

Quote - 7/3/2009
"The Founding Fathers established a system which meant a radical break from that which preceded it. A written constitution would provide a permanent form of government, limited in scope, but effective in providing both liberty and order. Government was not to be a matter of self-appointed rulers, governing by whim or harsh ideology. It was not to be government by the strongest or for the few. Our principles were revolutionary. We began as a small, weak republic. But we survived. Our example inspired others, imperfectly at times, but it inspired them nevertheless. This constitutional republic, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, prospered and grew strong. To this day, America is still the abiding alternative to tyranny. That is our purpose in the world -- nothing more and nothing less." -- Ronald Reagan

Enter the Suffrage

Our world continues to descend into socialism and communism led by tyrants. Unlike the history from 1850 to 2000, the USA of that time is long gone. The historical context of the 1800’s is that the world had just exited from a basis of feudal society. In feudal time, your position in society was cast when you were born - nobility to the nobles, and peasants to the poor.

Then, along came Lady Liberty crying out, "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

The main idea behind the USA was that it was "The Land of Opportunity". Nothing was guaranteed, but every individual had the freedom to reap the benefits of their hard work. Immigrants flocked to our shores, eager to assimilate and pursue "The American Dream". We were a land without nobility of special privilege. Capitalism knew no favorites and dealt out opportunity with a fair hand. On top of that, we were a nation governed "of the people, by the people, and for the people".

Our Founding Fathers never wanted us governed by career politicians, but that is precisely where we are. They believed in a "light-handed" federal government; but that’s not what we have. They made us a Republic because they feared “mob rule”. Furthermore, they knew the risks of government handouts, as James Madison said, "Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government."

Regardless of the wishes of our Founding Fathers, our government now bails out failing companies, and hands the propped up companies over to the Unions that brought these politicians into power. Government now dictates acceptable compensation levels for leaders of private companies. They force States to accept Stimulus Spending, and private banks to accept TARP funding. They threaten to tax privately contracted employee bonuses at 100% because they disagree with their distribution. Politicians stir up class envy by telling us that everybody deserves a home and healthcare. They establish lending rules that lead to our current housing disaster and economic collapse; and we are told to trust them with Healthcare, even though they have failed miserably with Social Security.

But all the blame cannot go to our politicians. Too many in our society have become lazy and covetous. They are too lazy to work hard for their own future; too lazy to study lessons of the past. But rest assured that they want the benefits of wealth without paying the price. Unwilling to put forth the effort necessary to achieve wealth, many choose to abandon the very system that has created the wealth; to abandon the system that provides them their opportunity. They tell Capitalism to “Go To Hell”; and instead of working hard, they elect unscrupulous men and women for the purpose of stealing that which they have been unable to earn.

Nobody should dare to blame the foundation of this country. Our Founding Fathers believed that liberty was a gift from our Creator, and they tried their best to impart on us a form of government which allowed Freedom. But what happens when a nation turns away from their Creator? I suggest that with a bit of patience, we are all going to see the answer to this question.

Nothing seems to bring about revival like old fashioned suffrage, and we had best brace ourselves for the onslaught.

Capitalism -IS- The Horse That Got Us Here

You hear it said all the time in sports, "We plan to stick with what has gotten us this far", or "You need to ride the horse that got you here". This is generally sound advice. If you have been successful, then stick with that basic plan going forward. However, we all know that even when a successful team says they don't plan to change, that they are not stupid about their game. They have to react to the unique situations that arise.

And this is exactly where we are with HealthCare. Our current system is not perfect, but the US system is still the best that the world has to offer. So you don't fix our problems by abandoning all that makes us different, in favor of adopting the plans used by most the other countries on earth.

The bottom line is that Socialized Medicine will provide mediocre care FOR EVERYBODY. Mediocre is fine if you have nothing, but it is a step backwards for those of us who currently have the best that the world has to offer.

Generally speaking, our system of Private Capitalist Providers is what has worked in establishing the United States as the leading provider of virtually every service on earth. And, Thank God that, "being the best" this DOES NOT MEAN that these providers are perfect. This "imperfection" is why OPPORTUNITY continually exists within our country even after 233 years of existence. If anyone comes up with a better idea, that person will get to reap the reward of implementing a better plan.

This is why Capitalism works...because it is "self fixing" and not beholden to the current provider. Furthermore, I am not trapped in a social cast system based on my birth, such as India. Nor am I stuck with a single provider such as most of Socialist Europe suffers under. I have the opportunity to select the best provider, which may someday be me.

However, once the government Socializes a business sector, my opportunity as a Capitalist is gone, and so is the opportunity for continual improvement of that service. It is a well known fact that Government Bureaucracy is slow to change. Therefore, we will be stuck with their "initial thought" for years to come.

I want to be clear; I am not against ObamaCare because he is a Democrat. My opposition stems from a strong belief in the US Constitution and our Capitalist System.

ObamaCare - A Hoax to Gain Control

Its time to start to prepare for Obama's inevitable foray into the Health Care industry. We are starting to see his minions chanting their montras to the leftist media.

After watching our Federal Government boldly take over the Automotive Industry, and dominate our banking industry, we should have great fear of where he wants to go.

Speaking to CNN, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius said, "The president feels that having a 'public option' side by side -- same playing field, same rules -- will give Americans choice and will help lower costs for everybody. And that's a good thing,".

I can't help wondering if Secretary Sebelius is stupid, or simply disingenuous. How could a person in her position be unaware that there are already large public health insurance programs like the Medicare program for those over 65 and the disabled and the Medicaid for the poor. And, thanks to President Bush, we have Prescription Health Plan as well.

So any reporter worth their weight in salt might ask Ms. Sebelius, "How will it help to give the government more control over Health Care, when they already control such a large percentage?"

Don't expect this question from CNN or any other members of the "Government Run Media". The answer is obvious to anybody that considers it; "It will not help at all!". But furthermore, it could be easily argued that Medicare and Medicaid are a big part of the "so called Health Care Crisis".

This leaves one to question why Washington Politicians (both Democrat and Republican) are so eager to venture into the Health Care Industry. (Remember that John McCain planned to modify our Health Care system also.)

I think this is where Glenn Beck begins to make sense. He argues that both parties are "Progressives" that have a real desire to take over all aspects of our economy.

Under Obama we have slipped faster into Socialism than most Americans felt was even possible, but even more sadly is how few people actually even understand that this has occurred.

As a result of "dumbing down" several generations in our school system, our younger generations now think that Socialism and Communism are evil groups of rulers in other countries. They fail to understand that these are alternative economic systems that oppose Capitalism, which is the economic system our Founding Fathers wanted.

Certainly Capitalism is not perfect, but if you are a God Fearing person you realize that perfection will not occur on this earth. All we can hope for is to maintain a "level playing field" which allows every individual the opportunity to achieve economic success based on the level of their own efforts.

Don't Believe All You Hear

Obama said this week, "We've done more than ever, faster than ever, more responsibly than ever, to get the gears of the economy moving again. ... We're in a position to really accelerate."

OK, "more than ever" may be accurate, because I never would have dreamed we could move towards socialism this fast. But "more responsibly than ever"??? PLEASE!!! Is anybody really this stupid? Remember, not ONE person read the text of the $787 billion "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act" before voting on it. Where is the media when he is allowed to make such preposterous claims!

Obama also said, "I have studied the Constitution as a student; I have taught it as a teacher; I have been bound by it as a lawyer and legislator. I took an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution as commander in chief, and as a citizen, I know that we must never -- ever -- turn our back on its enduring principles for expedience sake."

Once again, how is he allowed to get by with such statements. Why can't the Left simply be intellectually honest. They are ignoring the Constitution and the principles upon which this country was founded.

The Founding Fathers knew that the growth of our Federal Government would be the biggest impediment to the lasting prosperity of the country that they had shaped. As our American Militia was fighting to free us from the oppresive British Monarch, they understood that liberty for each individual can only be accompanied by a Capitalist System that allows each citizen the Equality of Rights to control their own financial circumstances.

The brand of economy that Obama is fashioning is Equality through Socialism. And you need only consider the salary limits he wishes to place on CEO's to understand how it works. His plan is to pull the financially successful back to the pack, instead of allowing the pack to pursue that same level of success.

Principles!

I've taken the following from the "Patriot Post" website ( http://www.patriotpost.us/) to encourage others to visit and follow their writings. There is much to learn from this site regarding the development of the USA into the greatest country in the history of this earth.

They frequently borrow the actual words from our founding fathers to validate their points, and I am confident that our country's future success rests in the hands of those that accept and live the type of life that this site exemplifies.

Please take time to familiarize yourself with the "Patriot Post"

Statement of Principles
Principium Imprimis — First Principles

As a leading national advocate for individual liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and the promotion of free enterprise, national defense and traditional American values, The Patriot Post abides by the following Statement of Principles as our Credo.

We believe that individual liberty and personal responsibility, together with limited government, free enterprise and a stalwart national defense, are essential to sustain the legacy of our national heritage.

Individual liberty rapidly decays into corruption and anarchy without a meaningful commitment to personal responsibility based on our nation's Christian heritage. Traditional beliefs and values must therefore continue to serve as our touchstone and compass.

The Cycle of Democracy follows this sequence:
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty (rule of law);
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage (rule of men).
(Attributed to Frasier Tytler)

Our Founder's established a Republican form of government in order to enfeeble this cycle, however, the advent of a national means of shaping public opinion (mass media) has, in effect, rendered the protections of Republicanism futile. Politicians, who promise redistribution of wealth, can depend on a majority of their indoctrinated constituencies to vote themselves benefits from the public treasury. Thus, the Republic is at high risk of following the same cycle as democracies, unless there is intervention by Patriot leadership -- those committed to a higher calling than their own self interests.

We believe a government that is strong but limited secures liberty best. The letter of the Constitution defines these limitations, and when our government oversteps them, it becomes tyrannical -- regardless of the party in power. This notion of limited government -- Lex Rex and not Rex Lex -- guided our Founders as they composed the Declaration of Independence. This established a nation guided by the rule of law, not the rule of me.

We believe the fundamental duty of the federal government is to secure the rights of its citizens. This is accomplished through a fair and robust justice system, a strong national defense, and a foreign policy that always put America's interests first.

We believe that the Constitution of the United States is supreme law of the land, and the best instrument yet instituted by man for protecting personal liberty by establishing a very limited and defined role for government. Its genius lies in its clear separation of powers at the federal level and its recognition that other non-enumerated powers reside with the states and their citizens.

We believe that the only economic philosophy congruent with these commitments to individual liberty and limited government is free market capitalism. Individuals contribute to this system through personal industry and initiative; government contributes by confining its regulatory activity within constitutional limits and by employing a system of taxation that is fair and comprehensible for all citizens. Entitlements and welfare schemes destroy not only personal initiative and responsibility, but also liberty and prosperity. Political freedom is inseparable from economic freedom. Thus, when the government stays within its constitutional role, America prospers.

In 1916, a minister and outspoken advocate for liberty, William J. H. Boetcker, published a pamphlet entitled The Ten Cannots:

-You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
-You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
-You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
-You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
-You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence.

-You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
-You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
-You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.

-You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
-You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they will not do for themselves.

Fact is that government cannot give to anybody what it does not first take from somebody else.
However, now the once great Democrat Party is replete with western apologists for socialist political and economic agendas advocating, essentially, Marxist-Leninist-Maoist collectivism -- the antithesis of Boetcker's principles of free enterprise.
Indeed, as George Bernard Shaw wrote, "A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul."

Nineteenth-century historian Alexis de Tocqueville once observed, "Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude."

Tocqueville was commenting on liberty and free enterprise, American style, versus socialism as envisioned by emerging protagonists of centralized state governments. And he saw on the horizon a looming threat -- a threat that would challenge the freedoms writ in the blood and toil of our nation's Founders and generations since who have honored their oaths "to support and defend" our Constitution.

Unfortunately, few in the Executive, Legislative or Judicial branches of government abide by their solemn oaths.

The Patriot envisions an America where the primacy of Constitutional authority, especially constraints on the legislature and judiciary, must be restored in order to ensure liberty, opportunity, prosperity, and civil society; where the primacy of traditional families and timeless values are the foundation of culture; where the primacy of religious liberty restores religious expression in the public square; and where we can rest assured that our nation is fully capably of defending our national security and national interests.

Let there be no doubt, then, that The Patriot's allegiance to our Constitution and the authority of our Declaration of Independence far exceeds loyalty to any individual, organization or political party. Indeed, it is this selfsame allegiance that brought The Patriot Post into being.

To that end, we affirm the verity of these words from Justice Joseph Story (appointed to the Supreme Court by our Constitution's principal author, James Madison): "The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of the republic; since it offers a strong moral check against usurpation and arbitrary power of the rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them."

While not my words, they are my sentiments. I simply cannot say them any better.

Rev. Obama Wants You to Hurry-up and Wait!

Back in January, President Obama told us how important it was that we immediately pass his $787 Billion stimulus bill. As he told us, this bill was loaded with "Shovel Ready" projects that would jump start our economy immediately. This bill was so important that not a single congressman was allowed to read it prior to passing it. Such irresponsible delays would have threatened our economy.

Very shortly after passing this colossal catastrophe, we witnessed AIG distribute bonuses that were promised within the text of the stimulus bill. Wow, now who would have thought that there might be something important in that bill that should have been read.

Fast forward to June and we have lost 2,000,000 more jobs and unemployment is now 9.4%. But, according to the Obama Administration, although we lost greater than a net 300,000 jobs last month, we have actually "Saved or Created" 150,000 jobs. And the best part is that we have only spent 5% of the stimulus bill's moneys. That is certainly interesting math, but I doubt that the 2,000,000 newly unemployed are comforted by this baloney.

Sensing that he is nearing ownership of this economic disaster, Obama has gone into action. He has started preaching "pay as you go" policies for public spending, as well as, "patience" regarding the job losses. Does anybody expect these policies will apply to Healthcare Reform?

I'm wondering, "how many different sides of his mouth can this guy speak out?". More and more Obama reminds me of those TV evangelists that fell from grace in the 1990's. The concern is the amount of damage he will be allowed to cause before people stop listening to his sermons.
